Replace the damaged or malfunctioning disc drive board in your PlayStation 5 Disc Edition console. Please note that in order for this board to work with your PS5 it has to be paired to your PS5’s mainboard by transferring a chip from your old disc drive board to this one. Without this step the system would not work properly. In certain cases replacing this board can fix issues related to the PS5 getting stuck during an update.
